Web Browser Market Share: August Update

Three weeks ago, Chitika Insights observed a week’s worth of impressions, and determined which browsers had the predominant market shares. This week, we present you with an updated version of our browser market share distribution.

Compared to our previous observation, the market share breakdown for web browsers shifted slightly. Safari and Firefox dropped off, now representing 12.3% and 17% of the distribution. Traffic from Google Chrome improved, now serving 17.14% of traffic. Google Chrome replaced Firefox as the second most popular web browser. Opera also made a pretty significant leap, improving to 1.1% of the market share. Microsoft Internet Explorer stayed the top browser, serving 52% of our traffic.

Our Insights team will continue pulling browser market data on a regular basis. We hope that these updates are as interesting to read about as they are for us to collect. Keep up with our blogs to stay informed on the latest web browser and operating system trends.
