How important is the iPhone to Apple’s success? Looking at some crossover statistics, very important, and not just in sales. Looking at a sample of Chitika traffic, an iPhone user is twice as likely to own a Mac computer. Normally, the Chitika network sees about 11% of its impressions as Mac, but in this sample’s iPhone households, 22% of other devices register as running Mac OSX.
Here’s how iPhones’ roommates breaks down:
In the sample, Android users were also more Mac-friendly than the norm; 19% of Android “siblings” were Mac home computers.
Also note that a fair amount of Android households also have an iPhone, but iPhone households are less likely to have an Android device.
