Online Shoppers Ready for Cyber Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

Cyber Monday – the first Monday after Thanksgiving – is the Internet retail world’s answer to the biggest shopping day in the world.  But new data suggests that online shoppers want more, and earlier, deals – starting as early as the day after Thanksgiving.

We at Chitika Research looked at Internet usage stats for the past week and found that the Friday, Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving all saw bigger jumps in people online than Cyber Monday.  Web surfers start looking for deals almost immediately after finishing their Thanksgiving dinner, and Internet retailers need to be ready to take advantage of all the online deal-seekers.

Thanksgiving Traffic Bump

While Cyber Monday is always a great day for online retail, starting sales earlier and earlier could result in huge gains for the online retail industry.  Next year, perhaps, retailers will launch Cyber Thanksgiving Week, and cut out the middleman.

  1. Hey Daniel
it would be great if u come up with the list of 4 top searched gadgets during these days 🙂
everyone has taken for granted that ipad is the must have and must give gadget this holiday season but it would be good to have someone backing this claim for search queries 😉

  2. Good idea, I’m actually running numbers at the moment to see what the growth in tablets seen across our network was over the past week – want to see if lots of new iPads or Samsung Galaxy Tabs showed up.

  3. Most likely, yeah. Would be nice to see an iPad alternative making some headway, though. Love my iPad, but Android devices always intrigue me.
