Internet Explorer Continues Losing Market Share

As of August, 2010, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer’s market share slide continues.  Compared with July, IE has dropped from 57.13% of the browser market to 56.09%, a continuing trend.  Although IE is still by far the #1 browser in terms of traffic share, third-party browsers continue to eat into that lead, little by little.

The big winner in August is Google’s Chrome browser, which saw its traffic share rise from 8.27% to 9.21%.  Mozilla’s Firefox saw a small gain, Opera’s traffic increased significantly from 1.08% to 1.63%, and Apple’s Safari browser lost nearly a percent.
